This course will introduce you to the skills needed, to take a neglected broad-leaf woodland and transform it into a productive coppice with wildlife benefits. Our tutors will take you through the process of safely cutting smaller trees on the coppice plot using a bill hook and saw*.

You will also learn to identify different tree species and understand their value. Coppicing is the sustainable way to get our needs from wood so join us and learn how.

*The methods of felling taught during this course are directly transferable to felling with an Axe. However, please be aware that we are unable to teach the safe handling of an axe during the limited time of this already information packed short course.
