Spend a day at our woodland workshop, learning the foundation of spoon carving with full time Coppiceworker and Green Woodworker David Hunter.
A previous student of Coppicewood College, David has taken the skills gained on our Woodland Skills Course and expanded his knowledge and abilities and now runs his own successful business (The Coppice Plot). Join David on one of his very informative courses and experience his infectious passion for spoon carving, green woodwork and hand tools. You won’t be disappointed.
David’s 1 day, spoon carving course will give you the perfect introduction to the craft. You will learn how to use a carving axe, and a variety of carving knives safely and effectively. Start the day with a log and end the day with a spoon that you will be able to use forever, (we’re pretty sure it will be the first of many). David will also discuss wood choice and the all-important sharpening of tools.
There will be a selection of high quality axes and knives available for you to use for the course, as well as the wood needed for your project.
For information of course dates and availability, please complete the form below, selecting ‘Spoon Carving’ in the Course Subject. David will contact you directly with the necessary information.
