Organised by Cwm Arian Reneable Energy and Coppicewood College, this comprehensive course will lead you through the theory, planning, preparation and practical skills to enable you to make your own greenwood gates.

Over 4 consecutive days (Thursday 4th July – Sunday 7th July 2024) join Hwb Dysgu’r Tir and Coppicewood College in the beautiful ancient oak woodland of Pengelli Forest to learn the heritage craft of greenwood gate making. This is a comprehensive course that focuses on giving you the knowledge and skills to enable you to make greenwood gates of any size wherever you might need them!
As a group, we will use the theory and preparation to collaboratively make a double greenwood gate using hand tools only throughout the course, giving you chance to develop and hone your practical skills. Your lovely and knowledgeable tutors, Tracey Styles (Cornerwood) and David Hunter (The Coppice Plot), also have decades of experience and both of them separately run their own greenwood businesses.
Standard – £290 For those who are meeting their everyday costs such as food and housing but have little disposal income.
Supporter – £350 For those who meet their everyday costs comfortably and have disposable income. You will be helping us to provide lower cost tickets to others who otherwise may not be able to access the event.
Please note the ticket price is for all 4 days and includes any wood and tools required
