Join us in the woods to learn how to make high-quality charcoal on a small scale. On this popular hands-on course you will learn a method of charcoal making that uses an affordable, and easily available metal drum to build a charcoal kiln. Small Scale charcoal production offers a truly sustainable way to make charcoal for BBQs, artist charcoal from willow and biochar for soil enrichment.
Once the charcoal burn is underway, our experienced instructor will have time to demonstrate and discuss various methods of sharpening the various handtools that we use in the woods.
